Few lampworking artists achieve the type of recognition Loren Stump has achieved. His art is included in the collections of some of the world's most prestigious glass museums -- including the Corning Museum of Glass and the Kyohei Fujita Glass Museum.
Stump's work includes sculptural pieces that are significantly larger than is typically thought possible with lampworking. To achieve this, he has built a highly specialized kiln with many doors. By working through the doors (and thus inside the kiln) he is able to maintain a sufficiently hot environment to prevent thermal shock of the large piece.
