The “hot slab construction” with which I’ve been experimenting these past few
years is based on ceramic slab construction and glass kiln-forming techniques.
Instead of using electric fusing/slumping kilns, I use a glassblower’s glory hole.
The pieces are fused and formed while going in and out of the glory hole dozens
of times. The process requires respirators, silver suits, lotsa gloves, hot torches,
and some yelling.
