"Simply put, Seattle artist Cappy Thompson paints stories on glass." - Museum of Glass website
Cappy Thompson has been exhibiting her work -- and has had her work written about -- since the late 70's (in September, 1977 she was the subject of the cover and feature article in Glass Magazine). Her work appears in prestigious collections worldwide, including the Corning Museum of Glass (New York), the American Craft Museum (New York), and the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art (Sapporo, Japan). She served on the faculty of Pilchuck Glass School where she is also a past Artist in Residence.
Thompson's current work, which she describes as mythopoetic, is vibrant and engaging -- and ranges in size from traditional vessels to the 33 foot high by 90 foot wide installation in the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
