Louis Iorio, born in Italy in 1878, worked for the Empire Cut Glass Company in Flemington, New Jersey.
In 1936, about ten years after Empire closed, Iorio and his son opened the Iorio Glass Shop. Iorio's success was in part due to the publicity he and other Fleimington business people received when the nation turned its ears and eyes to Flemington that year for the Lindberg kidnapping trial.
The Iorio Glass Shop specialized in cut blown glass. Louis continued to cut glass until he died in 1978 just a few days before his 100th birthday. His son and grandson ran Iorio Glass Shop until it closed in the late 1980s.
