Giles Bettison was born in North Adelaide, Australia in 1966. At the age of 30 he received his BVA with a major in glass from the Canberra School of Art. Most of his work uses a distinct style that I can best describe as organic geometry.
In his artist statement Bettison writes:
"The light and colour in rural outback Australia is part of my experience of connecting place to people. I use abstract representations of these and other places to explore my feelings; I want to include some essence of what these places mean to me."
