Scott Chaseling was born in Australia in 1962 and has pursued a career as an artist during all of his adult life.
His education includes study at the South Australian College of the Arts and Education, North Adelaide School of Arts and Crafts, the Jam Factory Craft and Design Center, Pilchuck Glass School, and the Canberra School of Art (where he constructed their first hot glass studio). In 2004, Chaseling won the Ranamok Prize for Contemporary Glass Art.
Many of Chaseling pieces are distinctively illustrated "roll-ups", work created using a process where a fused glass blank is rolled into a vessel and then blown. It is a technique he says allows him to "build a synergy between my conceptual and technical concerns."
